Glafira's Angora hand dyed
75% Geelong lambswool 25% Certified Angora
Angora is a very fine and very short fibre from the angora rabbit in China. Angora is actually finer and softer than cashmere however it has much shorter hair, making the material harder to spin at 100% angora. Our angora is obtained by shearing and not by combing, as combing can cause distress to the rabbits. The fibre used for this yarn is certified by Naturfasern (Caregora Reg No - 8260004). This ensures that all the farmers that have provided the fibre have been fully regulated and pass all animal husbandry standards. This scheme gives us full traceability back to the farmers.
Naturfasern is a renowned German company passionate about sourcing natural fibres for the textile industry. They developed Caregora. This is the first responsible and reliable angora fibre, where the care in husbandry and breeding works in total respect for both customers and animals.
